Pangrams — every letter in one line
Write one of these and you have written all 26 letters joined to their neighbours — including the ones ordinary practice skips, like cursive q, x and z. Within each word the letters join; capitals and word endings are where the pen lifts.

Sentence questions
What is the best sentence to practise cursive with?
A pangram — a sentence that uses every letter of the alphabet. "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" is the classic one, so every letter turns up at least once, in a real word, in a single line. Write it once a day and you have practised all 26 letters in context.
How do I space words in cursive?
Leave about the width of a lowercase o between words — a little less than in print, because the exit tail of the last letter already reaches into the gap. Inside a word there are no gaps at all: every letter joins the next.
Should I write a sentence in one go without lifting the pen?
Lift between words, and after the capitals that do not connect (B, D, F, I, O, P, S, T, V, W, X). Within a word keep the pen down; go back for dots, crossbars and the second stroke of x once the word is finished.
